Instafix..... turn the mid knob all the way up and turn the bass and treble down.
![]() Umm.... basically there is a thread for this I believe and all the tone is/was is bumped mids out the ass. Do you need that compressor? Greenbacks probably don't help your cause. What tuning are you in? Cut lows, boost mids, pick hard... this will help you sound like you are trying to sound like him.

Noisegates don't help that much, even while you're playing you can hear little things you wouldn't hear normally. But then I'm a big fan of little gain even for death metal.

I seem to get pretty close with my 5150 at:
Lead channel Gain: 3 (out of ten, not o'clock) Bass: 4 Mids: 6 Treble: 5 TS-808 Drive: 0 Tone: 6 Level: 8-10 Resonance and presence at around the mid point. I also have an NS-2 at maximum threshold, minimum decay

Lots of mids, a healthy amount of treble, and not much bass at all. Not a TON of gain, but enough for a hot signal, and mess with the noise gates for a quick cutoff.
EDIT: Technique. PICK HARD. Palm mute HEAVILY. Tap using hammer-ons for EVERYTHING, rather than pulling off with your last tap to go back down. |

it is i have two gates. the isp decimator to get rid of guitar hum and the ns2 to get rid of feedback. they feed off each other. the compressor pedal fights against the noise gates so that i dont lose the sustain but at the sametime i can have the tight djent sound.

yeah, it was a funny day, my bandmates rented a new rehearsal room so we didn't knew what to expect gear-wise, so when I saw a Pair of MG's I just wanted to but after the right EQ, it ended up sounding pretty decent after that we got some chips, beers and cookies tell me if you want to hear more about my stories with MG's dude, you called me bro, and I have respect for my bro's dawg!
