Yup, very sorry people but i need tap into the infinite wisdom of SS.org and ask, what 7 string?
im in the UK and my budget is about £500 ive had a good look around the forum and the ibanez 7621/7421s look like the best choice but ive no idea how easy they are to get in the uk, from all my searching they seem to be a bit tricky to find. ![]() so if i cant get my grubby mitts on one of them what else would you recomend? i would prefer not to have a trem but im not completely against them it just seems like a bit of a faff scince i cant see myself using it much. im not a huge fan of active pickups and ESP and Schecter dont really do it for me looks wize. i am pretty much expecting to have to go second hand to get something decent and i am more than happy swapping out pickups so dont worry about that. ![]() Thanks guys ![]() -Sam- |

RG7321
RGD7421 ARZ307 XG307 All Ibanez, all fixed bridge and passive and all <£500. MIJ Ibanez guitars are awesome though and if you like thin neck profiles the prestige necks are the holy grail. If you want a used 7421/7621 look in the marketplace here. May have to buy an EU guitar but shipping isn't that bad. I bet you could get a basic agile 7 for that money too if you are willing to risk the no returns. Will do a quick search on the rondo website and post again. Only thing about ordering agiles is they force you to buy a case. That with shipping is about $180, then you pay 23% VAT/duty when it arrives in the UK. BC Rich 7's and Peavey predators pop up quite a lot on ebay too for the <£200 mark with your requirements but never played either so can't comment on quality and the styling of BC Rich may not be to your tastes. Also a bit out of your price range but this has been on ebay forever and keeps getting reduced. If you live near him and could go see it and make a cash sale you would get it for less too as ebay and paypal take around 13% fees so that accounts for about £80 of the price. Haggle a bit and you have <£500. Depends how you like the paintjob http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-RG7621-7-String-Confederate-Rebel-Guitar-Bareknuckle-Pickups-/200764638007?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV& hash=item2ebe814337 EDIT: Scratch that bit about going to see it and cash sale unless you are willing to risk a blind transaction with no buyer protection, it's in Inverness which is in the North of Scotland. Close to me, but not for you! EDIT #2: Looks like the only Agile in that budget is the AL727 (27" les paul style body). $450 for guitar, throw on about $180 for case and shipping. $630*1.23 for taxes is about $774. Convert that back at $1.5 to £1 (current rate is 1.55:1 but paypal rate is lower due to conversion fee) and it will cost around £520 ish rounded up. Rondo Music Electric Guitars | Page 1 of 1 Probably not worth it though unless you can play one and know that is what you want and be willing to sort out any issues if they arise. I personally have bought 2 agiles brand new and had no problems but others have noticed problems. TL;DR. Any of the Ibanez guitars listed above (depends on what body style and neck scale you want) or look in the marketplace here. You can get a used RG7321 for about £200 though so they are perfect entry 7 strings. RG7421/7621's are great but rare and tend to be quite pricey over here, partly due to the ease of modding them and willingness of people to do it. |

Thanks for the Great reply!
yeah i think the Agile's are going to be far above my budget after customs, shipping, installing decent pickups etc. if im going to get something shipped i would probably try and get a 7621 from the US, there seems to be quite a few of them and that would be about £475 but wouldnt leave much left over for a pickup swap ![]() im mainly looking for a super strat really, the new RGD's look interesting but the reviews are pretty disappointing. what about the 1527, if i couldnt find a 7621 would that be a reasonable alternative if i blocked the trem? |

If you are unsure find a friend who has a guitar with a trem or go to a shop and ask if they will run you through it. My advice would be to not totally discount an RG1527 but definitely see if you can get a 7421/7621 first. |
