New to Seven strings
Hey guys, I'm new to seven strings. I wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations on 7 string axes, specifically ones that have smaller necks and nuts.
I'm used to a smaller thinner neck, I play mostly USA Jacksons. Jackson isn't too big in the seven string game I guess. Any recommendations would be cool, 800 to 1500 dollar price range. |

Ibanez and ESP/LTD are worth looking at.
For Ibanez, used RG7620s/7420s/s7420s are a good deal, as are the RG1527 (used of course). ESP... H-1007s/H1007FRs (FR denotes a Floyd Rose) |

I was looking at the ESP/ltd's
Specifically the Whitechapel sigs (Zach's) and the H1007s. Figures the WC sig that I like is the only one with EMG's in it though

How do the JP pickups sound in that Ibanez fix up you posted sound? My friend uses those pups, but I wonder how they translate in the lower note region.

I think it depends on how much you want to spend for a new guitar.
I recommand around 1000 Dollar and you get pretty good guitar. Ibanez and ESP have some pretty goods 7's. Ibanez mostly with a FRT and ESP got both, Fixed and FRT. if you want, you can check out Schecter. They got some cheaper guitars as well as higher quality guitars. |

Check out ibanez 7's. The ibanez 7 universe series is really good, and similar to the Jackson's if not a bit thinner. Good luck

You've got a pretty decent budget. Ibanez have the necks you want. Shopping new or used?
If you go with universe you're done. It's great as no mods are needed. Also Keep an eye out for deals on second hand rg7620/7621's, plenty of ready upgraded ones out there. I wouldn't reccomend a japanese made s7420 because they're too damn awesome and will turn you off your jackson ![]() The Necks on the Jackson SLAT 7's are pretty shreddy too. They would also have the feel you're looking for. |
