Why are you buying a 6 if you want something that's exactly like your 7? Seven strings have six strings built in, in case you didn't notice.

well I'm new to the 7 string and not ready to play it live as yet!

I need to start playing solos and get kinda lost on the 7.

I dont have another guitar with a Floyd, so I'm interested in buying a 6 for this purpose.

Dont want to spend a lot of cash so was hoping someone can recommend a good 6!

Try with LTD or Schecters, those are always a wise choice for metal

Gassing:
-Schecter SoloSpecialMasterworks w/LindyFralin
-Schecter CET/CustomElite/Traditional
-Charvel Pro Mod
-Mayones Regius
-Gil Yaron '59 Replica
-WCR Icebucker

I am gonna be honest man, the FR is a bad idea on a cheap guitar. IMHO. More trouble than it is worth.

I'm so sick of that idiotic comment. YES we know 7 string guitars have 6 strings in them as well... but they do not feel the same however; especially in the case of death metal, where digging into the bottom couple of strings is such a major component of playing the style.

OP, The best 6s, that come to mind, that you can pick up for a cheap price and still have good hardware on them is either used Japanese Ibanez RGs or Bc Rich Gunslingers.

I recommend purely on specs: Jackson KVXMG King V BK. bad-ass shape, Basswood body=good mids, maple through neck, stock EMG81 & 85, FR Special, good inlays for dark lit stage and its BLACK

Jackson Warrior? Shape is similar to the Stealth, and Jackson necks are solid and you shouldn't need to change the stock pickups unless you don't like the 81/85 combo

I was going to recommend a Fender Stratocaster. But then I always recommend Strats.

Still, I'd recommend a Strat

Doesn't a floyd rose alone cost like $200? Just get an Ibanez S something, the ZR tremolo is really smooth and stays in tune well. Or you could try to find a used RG1570/1550 or something with an edge pro.

They're all relatively low-end, metal-looking guitars with FRs.
