First Seven
Hey I'ma make a tone of money working so much overtime these next two months that'll have extra cash for my rig. I'm gonna buy new pick ups for some of my guitars, try to sell my head and get a new one and such before my band starts going live shows again. I'm borrowing my friends 7 while we record, some old LTD bolt on with a FR and BKP AM/CS set. But I'll need to get my own seven, cause I hate tuning one of my 6's that low, I like thin strings, but I have to use 70's with the 6 string just to keep it in tune...
I plan on spending under $400 (usd). I'm fine with buying used. I love the RGD7321, but I can't find a used one. So any ideas of a good first seven under $400? Also, please no alder body guitars, I hate the sound of Alder. I love mahogany, basswood, and ash. Alder is from the devil, it sound's dull and lifeless. (Ironically I'm recording on an alder one on this ep...) Also I'm looking at 7 string pick ups, The Blaze Custom and the Evo 7, any one have experience with these? I'm playing metalcore, I do some Djent. Thanks for any help I get! EDIT: Another thing, I hate double locking trems with a passion. Even when blocked off I just can't stand them. Ironically again, it's what I'm forced to use on these recordings. |

only 400$ to spent?? and pickups for the guitar? hope they're not included in your 400$. i think it's very hard to find a good one for 400$. Try to save up 100$ so you have 500 to spent, Agile maybe?Agile Interceptor 727 MN Black Flame at RondoMusic.com
I'd go for one of those if that's your budget. can't think of an 7 that's better than The agile. Good luck with Ure search! |

$400 not including pups. Yeah, it's much, but there are other things I need to get for my rig. I need a new mic and a vocal processor. That's why I hoping to find something used.

ibanez RG7321! that guitar ....ing rules. but its exactly $400. so you might have to use the stock pickups for a while, but IMO they sound pretty sweet.

Ibanez RG7321 would be a great option, but I personally don't like the new Gibraltar bridge they have. I say go for a used one off of ebay or Guitar Center's used section like JazzHands said.
IMO your best option is to save up a bit more and get a used RG1527 or 7620. "You took the best thing about natural finished guitar bodies and applied it to the neck. I'd compare it to dipping solid chocolate into chocolate mousse, having a lucid dream within a dream, receiving fellatio while having sex, producing energy while burning no fuel. You sir are a genius.'' - in-pursuit "Parker PM 10 trade?" - JackWilliamBellow |

RG7321. Really nice guitar for the cash and plays like something considerably more expensive.

It looks like I'm gonna save up for a used RG1527 and block the trem or get the RG7321. Unless I find a used RGD7321. And it looks like I'm gonna try the Evo7 and PAF 7.
