Anybody else a chest rocker?

I just had to get my cliplok modified to get it as short as I need it.
Anybody else in the chest-strap brotherhood?

I have mine a tiny bit below my chest. It's weird cause my rythmn guitarist has his at his ankles and juxtaposed on stage it's very odd looking haha

Nipple rocker here, my cliplock strap is either slightly too short for me, or just perfect at its shortest length.

Pretty close to chest rocker myself. I had to recently dump my cliploks for a normal strap/straploks due to comfort. The cliploks new home is on my Ovation

Chest rocker out of necessity.

Keeping the guitar up high makes it easier to bat away incoming bottles. The only drawback is having to do a quick step-back before swinging the neck of the guitar in order to deflect any approaching projectiles, because I sometimes knock over the mic stand.

My catlike reflexes have become so, that now, promoters encourage people to bring waterbottles to throw at me at our shows.

Yea, you're probably giggling right now...but you don't know what it's like to be the opposite of all bands out there. Many pray to put on a good show for the fans...but me and my boys...we're ....ED!!

Yea, that's right, we're ....ed whether we put on a good show or not. Because either way, we'll get showered with bottles. I mean, it's hard enough to play and sing, but in addition to that I got to bob, weave, Neo backbend and Babe Ruth my ass to fend off expired waterbottles, too! And who the .... keeps water bottled up for so long, anyways? It's all yellow and shit!

So yea, I ain't embarrassed to rock at the chest. It's either that, or a face full of expired water.

Y'all know what time it is!!!

The most comfortable position for me is with the guitar neck almost vertical. My fretting hand is pretty much in front of that hand's shoulder for the most part, and the picking hand is in front of my belly button.

I started using this position when I had hand problems back in the '80s, and it made it so much easier to play that I've never had to change since....

If you don't care enough to research your own question, why should anyone else care more?

Hells yeah. I always liked having my guitar high. I could never play low, just makes it a lot harder for me. I can play with ease when it's high.

I guess I'd be considered a chest rocker. I just can't find out how some people are comfortable with their guitars so low.

Needs a 7 so bad he's dreaming of them.

This is exactly how I play standing up too. It is the closest I can come to the classical position while standing and the most comfortable for me.

Not chest, but higher than most, I'd say, especially compared to the other hardcore bands I've seen or played with. And I look extra awkward just because this is my live guitar

I've never thought it was cool to sling the guitar down by your knees, even when I first started guitar and watched Al Pitrelli rip shit up with his guitar well below his waist. I've always put comfort before looking cool. So I am proud to be one of the chest rockers on SS.org

The height I play at is a compromise. I will list several notable heights in descending order:

1. The height at which I feel most comfortable playing (Highest)
2. The height at which it begins looking somewhat silly
3. The height at which I play live
4. The height at which it is low enough to look badass (Lowest)

So, I sacrifice a bit of comfort for aesthetics. I prefer V-shaped guitars in an almost vertical position.

Yup! Always have been. I like the guitar to be basically the same height as if I were sitting. And I have no idea how low slung guys do it. Slash definitely has different wrist anatomy than me because the dude can play, but his guitar is so LOW. About the only thing I'm comfortable with low slung is banging out some Green Day chords. Otherwise my technique suffers and wrist hurts.

I have long arms, and it doesn't seem to be an issue. Josh Bauman (pictured) does too, so maybe it's a long-arm-guy thing.
