I need some help identifying my guitar age!!!!

i have had my ibanez rg570 for a couple years now but i don't know what year it was made in..i have this number whick came off of the headstock...f97 54519. it is left handed so i'm sure ibanez made only a few of them and probably for only 1 year. if anybody can help me out please do...thanks and have a good one...

it was made in fujigen in 1997

cool thanks man i thought it was a 2000 model, i am getting some new switches put in it today and the guy wanted to know wat year it was...have a good one and thanks

for future reference, the letter at the start of the serial indicates the factory that built te guitar, and the next couple of digits give the year.

cool now i know lol...how do you insert faces in your messages by the way? thanks for everybody being so helpful now if i can just fix my humming problem, i posted my problem the other day, this is a cool site i think i'll stay and if i can help others i will...peace everybody....

this is a VERY cool site

just put a standard colon then parenthasis like such : )
except without the space. otherwise, if you click advanced under the post section, theres a bunch on the right, and under that a button that says more, that brings up the full list.
just click them and it will insert text, usually 2 colons with something in the middle ie :wu b: (without spaces) is

you can just type them once you learn them
