Peavey 5150 w/ a Marshall JMP-1 Preamp

Hey guys. I have just recently started getting into equipment and I've found a preamp that I am very interested in. I currently have a Peavey 5150 and I've ran across a Marshall JMP-1 preamp that I really like. With the 5150 already having a preamp, is it possible to run this JMP-1 through the 5150? Can I run the JMP-1 just through the power amp of the 5150 if thats possible? If so, are there any pros or cons to doing this?

I've just recently started getting more into playing so power amps, guitar heads, and preamps are all still new to me.

run the output of the jmp1 into the fx loop return on the back of the head and it should work :yesway

This is the way to do it. You may on some amps need to put a "dummy" cable into the FX send, but otherwise, this should work as long as it's a series loop and not a parallell one
