for a crash course in 7 string fun, check out Dream Theater's A Change Of Seasons. also, keep on playing your 6 string tunes on your 7. that's the beauty of having a 7 string guitar versus a drop tuned 6

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

First song i learnt was "Mindstorm" by Satriani.
Not the solo, but all the rest...

Search some threads like this in "beginner central", you'll find many other suggestions.

I will also suggest you to try 6 string tunes on 7 string, Try this one on your 6 string

A variation on this can be used to sound slightly closer to the original, by playing the notes within a six-string's register as they were originally, and not an octave up, as in Figure 2. Figure Two-Intro style riff on six string (EADGBe) in 'semi-octaved' style.

Bevo will become famous soon enough
New to the 7 as well but I gave up the search for 7 songs..lots out there but spent more time looking than playing.

What I am doing is getting used to the guitar by playing all my 6 string songs and practicing scales and stuff.
Also put my 6's away for the month to give the seven a solid chance.

If you don't mind Open C tuning, You Suck by SYL is a damn fun song, and pretty simple too.
Lots of stuff by Nevermore (Acid Words, TGE) would be good practice too, and some Unearth stuff (Zombie Autopilot) is good too.

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

Rachmaninoff is a jewel in the rough
The Dark Eternal Night, from Dream Theater.
It has a lot of cool 7-string riffage.
