Good tunes to learn for beginners to guitar.

The other thread was for people who are new to sevenstring but have a guitar background.

This ones for absolute beginners starting out on a seven.

I've started learning Replica, I really suck.

What are other good songs for a beginner to learn?

Severed or Sp Lit from Chimaira. The tune is Drop A on 7-string, so no difficult there. Also Archetype from FF is pretty easy.

Playlist 24.12.07:

1. Amoral - Nervasion
2. Thine Eyes Bleed - Corpse You Up
3. Profane Omen - Breed Suffocation, Breed Extinction
4. The Black Dahlia Murder - Everything Went Black
5. Necrophagist - Diminished to B

Playlist 24.7.08:

1. Periphery - Eureka
2. Hate Eternal - Bringer Of Storms
3. Opeth - Heir Apparent
4. Pantera - This Love
5. The Black Dahlia Murder - Deathmask Divine

My opinion is use your seven as a six with addes lower B, so you can learn other songs played on 6 string and play them now in different tonalities using low B or play them using other fingerings with lowB.

I think you should be learning guitar in general, not nessecarily a song that is played on the low B. unfortunately in my opinion there are two difficulties of seven-string guitar songs: extremely easy and hard. there is a lot less music out there, so often times you are choosing between Fear Factory and Dream Theater etc (neither of which I would recommend for an absolute beginner)

Edgecrusher by Fear Factory maybe.

Its a good idea to start where all the metal guys start: Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth. There is a good reason for this- namely that they have a lot of songs that span a wide variety of difficulty levels (and even solos that spawn a large variety of difficulties). None of those songs use the B string.

Dead Inside by Chimaira is a good one too for 7 string

For rock stuff try A Perfect Circle, they mostly tune to C# and a lot of their songs can go quite well on a 7. Judith is a great tune and was played on a 6 tuned B, F#, B, E, G#, C# (Basically a drop D tuning 1 and a half steps down) and would be cool for a 7... actually I might give that a burl now!

Try the beginning of Dream Theater's A Change of Seasons (just the acoustic thing at the start and the first heavy riff). Obviously, unless you are insane, don't try learning the whole song.
