![]() | 6 string baritone (or) 7 string standard ???? That is the question! I play 6 string predominantly and was considering a 6 string baritone for my heavier stuff, I already own a 7 string and another standard scale 6 string, so gimme some advice on the baritone 6 strings, has anybody tried any of them? And what do you think about em' playability and tone wise, can I get the heaviness out a baritone that I can my 7 ???? |

I love my RG1077XL \m/ The tone on the low A string is godly, even though its only a 60. It feels heavier than a 60 on a standard scale in standard tuning, and sounds it too. I love the sound of my 6 string in dropped B, the feel of the low B flopping around just adds a certain touch that a baritone will not let you achieve. The same with a 7 string baritone, not crazy about the tone i get. I would suggest trying to find one and see if it's for you before you buy. Some guys love em and some guys hate em. ![]() |
