A little help needed here, newbie and confused
hi there, i'm a newbie. i joined this site ages for no reason. but now i've ended up with a modded washburn 587. my cousin bro has given me his previous rig(a laney amp and a RPx400 processor and this guitar ). i have only played a 6-string acoustic prior to this, which i actually didn't take that seriously. i do know about a few chords and scale. but i wanted to know that, should i learn(and i mean from the very basics) using a 7-string now or should i first work out on my 6-string acoustic. and can u guys give me some examles of how to use some of the basic chords on a 7-string , especially barre chords and power chords and even scales(don't be very technical though
) . u guys are expert so help me out.any help will be appreciated PEACE! |

Well I'm just a beginer, and I don't own a 7string... but the plus one string doesn't matter to much, don't be afriad. You can play scales/chords of lower notes and such... it's just 5 plus note!

a guitar is still a guitar. however, 7 strings are cooler and more fun, so go ahead and do your learning on it
. you can always still play a six, and that's something most 6'ers can't say about 7's.you can still do similar power chords with the B,E,A strings, but things get dicey when you try to do full chords. try to not think about it so much, though. just play what sounds good to you. music is limitless like that.
I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

![]() If you've got the 7, use it to learn on. It can't hurt and it's really not much different. Just 1 extra string.
I am the mask you wear.
