Amen to all. The way I'm built I feel far better with the guitar strapped way up. It's not about strapping way down and looking "James Hetfield cool"! Think Rusty Cooley cool. hehe
I don't wrap my thumb around the neck Hendrix-style either. I keep it in more of a classical player's position, right in the middle of the back of the neck or even closer to the bottom side of it for better reach on the fretboard. I have to if I want to play 3 note per string scales way down the neck on my baritone. I don't know about the rest of you guys out there, but I fall into the habit of leaning my cheek or my chin on the upper horn of my guitar when I'm sitting down to play and it actually feels comfortable. Also, for some reason, even though I always stand to play or practice, I sit to record. I record on my computer and hate reaching down to the desk to move the mouse. Anyone else that way? To answer your issue though, for the most part though I strap high enough so that it is the same seated or standing. "Dude, you need to find the right fucking meds to be on, because you are the most unstable person I know." |

hmmmm, sometimes I sit down when practicing, sometimes I play standing up, depends on what I feel like doing mostly. recently I tend to practice the songs for my band standing up mostly as we are preparing for our first gig and I'll have to play standing on stage anyways
I dont have my guitar very high, but I dont have it extremely low either. around belt-level I'd say |
