Headless guitar

http://www.kgb-music.co.uk/guitar3.htm

Now after this whole headstock argument in the kxk thread i was wondering, how does a headless guitar work when it comes to tension compared to a normal headstock.

I have played a bass that was headless and the upper frets had a lot of fretnoise, is that a common problem ?

Again,it shouldn't affect the tension at all as what's going on behind the nut has no real bearing on 'actual' tension.
Actually a lot (or most)of the headless systems use a zero-fret as opposed to an actual nut anyway.

The bass you played must have just had fret-noise anyway.Maybe the truss-rod needed tweaking or something else needed sorting out or it could have been one of the cheaper headless basses.

I've played a few Steinberger guitars that had no headstock and they were probably some of the nicest guitars i've ever played.
Same with basses. Steinberger made some awesome headless ones and Status (UK maker of headless graphite/composite Basses)headless basses are awesome.
That red one in your link looks like a Status but a few other companies made cheaper copies of the Status (Hohner and i think Washburn might have too)so it could be one of those.

I'd love a headless 7-string if anyone made a nice one.
