Whoa...

Yeah I'm somewhat glad I don't have "perfect pitch" hearing.

Seems to be more of a pain in the ass than a useful trait.

Why not just get a fretless guitar and learn to properly intonate.

Er...nevermind, I guess some people would prefer the tone of an fretted instrument.

All of the er "science" behind all these things are very interesting though.

Just you wait! You will get annoyed eventually by those beats in major and minor chords.

I play fretless bass. I think I can intonate fairly well in most tuning systems. Guitar is a little different. I need a sharper attack and a clearer tone.

Bending the frets a wee bit isn't really going to change how you play very much.

I could get into it if they offered a scalloped neck, definitely. I think it's a great idea. Intonation is a bitch. It's like, "Let's see... I'll hit a little harder on the bottom two strings and mute the top, but only on Eb and Db." Yargh!

Strobe tuners help a lot, though.

Hmm scalloping the fretboard would really mess with your intonation, though. IMO, it'd kinda defeat the puropse, in a way.

They ought to do Werckmeister III tuning as well. The fret offsets would be a bit smaller, and the tuning sounds really great, IMO. It's also the most popular well-temperament on pianos.

Hmm, that is pretty cool. I wonder if they'd consider doing occasional fanned fret ERG fretboards?
