What pickups are in your guitar mofo? Are they well mounted or do they rock sideways easily?

If the pickups aren't well potted they'll feed back, the wire in the coil starts resonating (squealing). If they are mounted loosely the whole pickup assembly can resonate, direct mounting is the best solution but can be complicated if the guitar wasn't designed that way. Increasing the tension of the mounting spring can help.

BTW I had a Rocktron SuperC for a while. Biggest piece of shit I've ever experienced.

The best damn stompbox noisegate in existence!

Other than that all I can tell you is...

Lose the Metal Zone and buy an amp that has good distortion!

Here's you're problem:
You're trying to practice in a band situation w/ a 30 watt practice amp. Get something with at least 60 watts. Something of the 2x12 or half stack variety would be best.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Omichron and Hatebreeder.
Lose the Boss and get yourself a real amp

...or a 30-watt tube amp, if you're willing to spend the cash. 30 watts from a tube power amplifier is PLENTY loud. My 45 watt Mesa is more than I expect I'll ever need.

I'm a big fan of low-wattage tube amps, gotta stick up for 'em here.

Peavey classic 30 and a RAT pedal = much better than what he's using (and pretty damn affordable).
