Tuning a four-string in fifths?

This occurred to me over the weekend. I was thinking it would be fun to get a cheap-ish four-string (I like some of the £150-ish Yamahas I've played) and stringing it up for CGDA tuning. I know a lot of double-bassists use that tuning as a second standard tuning, and I was just thinking it would be cool to apply to an electric. I imagine it would be a lot of fun for tapping, and there are lots of cool chords available in fifths tuning.

Thoughts? AllYourBass, I know you've tried this before; how'd you get on with it?

it can be a bit of a trick adjusting as the bass scales are pretty long, so those are some long stretches, but its definitely usable. try it out. if you dont like it, back to fourths you go

As I'm kinda strapped for cash ATM, and can't really afford to spend losts of money on new gear I don't actually need, I'm thinking of using my five-string, and adopting the NST method I use on my sixes, i.e. fifths with one minor third. I'm thinking CGDAC or BbFCGBb.
