![]() | NBD - Belated birthday present (56K - I have warned you!) I came home late today only to find this at my stairs Man, you can really say that Warmoth goes completely over the top packing a hardtail bridge and a locking nut. ![]() But waitee, somethings wrong... ![]() Turn that sucker īround. `Tis no Warmoth Iīm tellinī ya ![]() Up in my living room we go ![]() I produce my weapon of choice ![]() Hmmm, better but not there yet ![]() Thatīs it! ![]() I realize that the package is hold together by thick ass metal clamps and my knife will take me nowhere. So I have to rip the box open by hand and find... another box...! ![]() Hey look at that: the fine folks at Music123 have sent me a pile of bubblewrap ![]() But there has to be more to it because of: ![]() I ignore the warning generously and reveal a headstock. But WTF, look, ITīS MISSING TWO GODAMN STRINGS... ![]() Just kidding. These are the remains: ![]() Thank you for your time fine gentlemen! Now, seriously, my new toy: ESP-LTD D5 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Construction / Scale Neck-Thru-Body / 34” Body Merbau Neck / Fingerboard 5-Pc. And even then Iīm no bass player so my opinion would count nothing. But played unplugged especially the low strings have a nice bell like clarity and a ringing quality to it. Donīt now if itīs due to the neckthru design or the stringthrough bridge or if itīs the merbau body. Finally I want to thank Urklvt who put the deal through for me with Music123. Thanx bro! You seriously rock! ![]() |

![]() | Thanks guys! Well, Iīm no bass player so my opinion may not be to the point completely. But to me it feels really good. It has a very thin neck and its matte finish feels nice and fast. As I have mentioned in my first post the unplugged sound is really impresive. The higher strings have an almost piano like clarity to them and the low B features a really nice growl. I have the feeling the action could be a tad better and the intonation of the low B was completely out of place. I donīt get the EQ part. Thatīs so many knobs I donīt have on one of my guitars. It will surely take some time ītil I have figured out some sounds I like. All in all I think (from a guitar playerīs point of view) itīs quite good value for the money. I really like it so far! When I have mastered the basics of drum programing I will do some clips for sure! Can anyone give me a rule of thumb what relief and action on a fivestring bass should be? Keep in mind Iīm not playing fingerstyle but use a pick. Iīm used to do the setups on my guitars but I have no idea what the measurement on a bass should be. Hey Mike, you have good eyes... Thatīs to sevenstrings and a sixer Iīm building. Have a look here. I would like to here you think. |
