New Bass Day! (56k Woothoo!)

Well, I finally got a 2000 Ibanez SR 485 bass for studio use. I love this bass! Aside from the hideous paint job which will be taken care of shortly, it plays and sounds nice!

Bill is going to strip it and tung oil it in the next couple weeks here, for now, here are some pics!

I dig this neck!

Total cash paid~ 175!

Why anybody would want to paint over that Mahogany wood finish is beyond me.

The guy at the music store said a young teen owned it.

It plays awesome. I compared it to Jon's SR 305 and it smokes it. He played it yesterday at practice and he liked the 3 knob EQ on it.

Aw, man, I kind of dig the color, too.

My first Iby was a metallic lime green RG470DX. A buddy of mine at school nicknamed it "Lawn Boy" in a reference to Satriani's "Chrome Boy," and it kind of stuck.

BAre mahogany is sexy though.

That's nice.

I kinda like the colour too. But a natural mahogany finish would awesome.

Yeah, the color is kinda cool but the paint job is hideous.

If it were done nicely, i'd leave it.

I do like bare Mahogany and it's going to look awesome. We'll be doing a picstory on it too.

Thanks, Yevetz. I got it at a local music store in town here, which I go to frequently, they're good.

The bass is at Bill's getting prepped for stripping and tung-oiling.
