![]() | PodXt bass package I recently bought the Bass expansion pack for my PodXt Live guitar fxboard. I was wondering if anyone else got it, and if so, have any good tones to share? I find it quite hard to get a real good basstone. Eventhough my bassguitar sucks, and i think i need to change the strings.ANYWAY...anyone got any good tones to share? i meant patches...sowwy! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if you get a good bass, then you almost don´t need to use any processing to get a good sound, so to get a good bass tone from the bass expansion pack, i´d say upgrade the source of the sound, new pickups, new strings, hell, a new bass if you can... just saying that it´s easier to work with a bass sound that is good to begin with, than to "repair" a crap sound... -------------------------------------- Æn Æppl Æ Dæi, Kiips De Dåktor Awæi |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you have a decent bass with resonant tone woods, strings that aren't so old that they're collecting social security, and a decent active p/u setup, you should only have to go d.i. The only reason to go through any other units are if you want effects (for bass?) or some added comp for some grit & dirt, otherwise, that's about it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | All my stuff is packed up right now while I'm in transition here to Portland, but I'd recommend starting with the Eden head model, with either the Eden cab or or big single (15" or 18", can't remember which) depending on what type of voicing you like. I'm not a huge fan of the POD's compression section, so I'd try something like a Sansamp DI unit or Boss pedal to get your attack/response/sustain characteristics right and let the POD generate the tone. You can get some great results that way. |
