Thats what happened to me. I was not in the field for a bass at all. I picked it up just to see what kind of quality OLP was and I loved it. plus 5 strings and a low price, I went back a day or two later and grabbed it.

I don't need a new 5-string, since I'm super happy with my Fender Jazz Bass V, but I'd take the 4-string in a second if it sounds and feels as good as I think it might

I hear the OLP Tony Levin basses are great bang for the buck. These dual-hum models look promising! $399 for the 4-string and $449 for the five at musiciansfriend... more expensive than the Tony Levin signature model.
