Help me identify this bass
I have a student with a bass that needs some work. I recognize this headstock from somewhere, but I can't place it or figure out what company it is. (I THINK I recall seeing it on an acoustic guitar in the book American Guitars by Tom Wheeler, but I don't have that book anymore
 ) Can anyone tell me anything about this?  |

Got more shots of the beasty? The headstock by itself isn't enough for me to help.
