Warwick Vampyre basses

I think i played a rock bass version of one of these and really liked it, which for me is unusual as I generally don't go for basses, but it was really nice. Love the way the neck is bolted on, just plays like a neck through. It's started me thinking about owning a bass!

I am not a fan of Warwick/Framus workmanship. It's mostly hit or miss. You can never know what happens.A good friend of mine is endorsed ,and the stuff he gets is really inconsistent!
But they feel good and play good. They know how to build a good sounding/feeling instrument!

Scramasax's bassist is picking one up this year

I love them, it felt like playing a guitar rather than a bass to me, so nice

I've played a Warwick Thumb 4-string once, and boy was that a mistake They just feel so nice. And sound incredible.

knuckle_head is a jewel in the rough
The Vampyre has been around for a while, and was used as a foundation for what they called the Dark Lord. It was the one displayed at the last NAMM tuned to F#. The Vampyre Dark Lord was a cosmetic variation and the finish was awesome - sandblasted ash that pitted out the grain really nicely, and then stained a chocolate brown.

That F# string can be put on any 34" scale bass with some very slight modifications.

Choosing the path less traveled means more than occasionally you walk alone.

I played a 4-string Warwick and a 5-string and they both played really nice. A friend of mine has a 5-string Warwick and it is very nice.

I was in Seth Horan clinic for Warwick Basses. His custom Vampyre is really cool!
But again ,the craftmanship is not "stable" ,and many minor but disturbing problems occur...As did to my ex bass player (The PU Jumped mittle in the concert ,the strap pins jusmped out in rehersal.),to a friend of mine (finish peeled off)..and some others .Ok there are many in Germany ,so the problems occure often. But for that price....

My band's bassplayer plays a Warwick 5-string bass. I don't know the model, but it has a bunch of switchs and knobs for controlling the lows, mids, and teble on the bass before it goes to the amp. Sounds pretty sweet.

Vampyre's are almost insulting- they are completely pandering to the 14 year old kids who want some weird shape so they can look edgy and give the finger to society in a bad metal band.
