Think of it as having the ability to use the raunchiness of your 5150 for distortion and the poweramp of the 5150 to power your POD(via fx loop)for cleans in a foot switch. Cause thats what it is.
If that wasn't what you were asking, then pardon me. I have no experience with the setup, but I know that Phil Demmel (machinehead) does. He runs a 5150 with a Rocktron Prophesy in this manner.
