Localise what? I guess you mean a game of some persuasion? As far as successful Australian-made games go, I don't think the ratio is any worse than any other country, but spectacular failures (such as Fury) are much more common due to the lack of support the gaming industry gets here. For an Australian game to take off, it pretty much needs to be bankrolled by an overseas company (the Total War games are developed here by Creative Assembly who are essentially a Sega shell company); most of our developers set up alongside beaches and offer attractive employee benefits for the simple fact that it's the only way the can attract employees from overseas. To be (un)fair, the censorship situation is just as bad with movies and print media, it's just especially bad with video games as the censored versions are often rush jobs that don't function correctly due to removed content (in San Andreas, you couldn't upgrade all your stats due to the blanket removal of sexual content, for example). From what I'm told, we're losing all sexually explicit content in GTA1V as well as anything related to drunk driving. Drunk driving?!?!? Fucking hell. I'm so glad I don't actually pay for things anymore.
