Cort Curbow

I just got mine a few days ago.

The electronics are great, but I'm kind of underwhelmed by the basic sound, especially when compared to my Peavey Grind. It does a thuddy sound (think P-bass or Music Man) pretty well, and the eq gives you a lot of options, but it feels like it's been used quite a bit, and I'm wondering if it just needs a new set of strings?

And if so, what should I buy? Bass strings are really expensive and I don't want to make a mistake. The bottom strings sound kind of dull, and don't quite match the top like they should...I'm considering not just rounds but tapewounds or flats as well, but don't quite know what would be a good match.

Question authority. Don't ask why, just do it.
