I've done very little recording so far with my Rectoverb but what I've done so far surprised me a lot.
I haven't even sat down and really tweaked it for 'recording" yet. I just threw a mic on front of the recto cab and pushed record and I got a surprisingly good sound without even really trying.

Stick an MXR 10 band EQ in the loop and you can get it plenty tight and dial out any mud.
Rectos kick ass.
