You can also french the hole with side cutters as well, just make sure you don`t cut all the way through the ear, and lop it off. You want to crimp it.
Clever! I like that...

However, I don't see brass anywhere in the vicinity of a Dimarzio Humbucker. The entire baseplate, as far as I can see, is a heavy plastic. The mounting holes were filled with a very thick wax that the screws could cut threads into. This particular one just popped through.

Anyway, as I mentioned, wood screw to the rescue.
