| I got one of the Peterson strobe tuners. It has a setting that, if you use the tuner and set up intonation according to their instructions, slightly offsets each string so that chords sound great up and down the neck. There are two settings, a "jazz" setting for complex chords, and a "Root5" setting for power chords. So if you are recording, you tune for each need.
Seriously, save your pennies for one of these strobe tuners. They are awesome, and teach you a ton about what being in tune sounds like.
