| I use 11-52+8 for tuning to D standard on my 25.5" DeArmond 7-string, and using 10-59 for A standard on my 27" scale Agile 7-string. The string tension is a little stiff on the DeArmond, but I haven't broken a string yet. Also, tuning to drop C work out well, as the 52 gauge string isn't as floppy as a 48 gauge string or lower would be in this tuning. I can still bend the high G string with no problems using a 8 gauge string.
Talk to Distressed_Romeo or Metal Ken as well. They both use or have used D standard tuning on their 7's, and they can probably help you out in this subject. |
