I would advocate that matches and glue will be a better fix than wood filler/putty.

IIRC a UV is basswood so you might want to be cautious of "over filling" the hole with match sticks and then wedging a screw back in. Just like a new piece of wood with no pilot hole you could split the surrounding wood. If you fill it almost completely be sure to drill a new pilot hole before putting the screw in.

As Stitch and Hexer have explained it's a pretty simple fix that should be well within your abilities.

PS - this is an excellent fix for those strap button screws that are getting loose too.
