Race is something you are born with. There is no changing the color of your skin or features of your face, unless you undergo extensive, expensive and painful plastic surgery.

Religion is a choice. Sure, you may be a product of your environment, but it is something you can change. I wasn't raised an atheist. I made a conscious decision to abandon my Christian upbringing.

Comparing the two is insulting to anyone who sufferers racial persecution. I am not persecuting the religious: I am pointing out the hypocrisy in their beliefs, and will vigorously attack anyone (like evangelical Christians) who hold up the progress of science, try to dictate morality, or influence what my children learn in school.
