Miss Machine was closer to
Calculating Infinity in that it was mostly techy songs, but they'd randomly stick in a rock riff or a big Patton-esque chorus, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. The new one,
Ire Works has a couple of techy songs amidst a whole bunch of songs that rip off various Patton projects. Fantomas, Tomahawk, FNM, Bungle... you name it, they've ripped it off
It's not that they're BAD at it, but when it comes to the "tech" thing, DEP do it better than anyone else, and their are a million bands that do the diet-FNM things, so it's disappointint to know they're one of them now. Oh well.
