I think the big question is how multi-threaded are the major apps you use? If Sonar 6 and it's plug-ins can't utilize all four processors simultaneously, then you'd be better off with the faster Duo. Similarly, your use habits will affect the choice too. If you have an app that normally takes a long time to complete, the Quad will allow you to get more done in the foreground while the background process(es) do their thing.
