That's a good point (and the Variax is on the backburner now due to the Brunetti anyways) but it's still a useful tool for the acoustic/alternative tuning capabilities and I find that pretty inspiring. Might not be THE best tone I've ever heard but I've heard some damn convincing recordings from variax gutiars in the past so it's definitely possible.
