So I've been eyeballing the 5150//6505 2x12 combo and it sounds mighty tempting. Basically the half-stack is overkill right now, and I'm sick of lugging it around to auditions//open-mic's, etc.

First things first, yes I have played a 5150 and I do like them.

I know a lot of you guys are quite knowledgable with these pups so heres some things I'm interested in as I'm quite ignorant with the amp itself.

What's the difference between the 5150 I, II's etc?

Should I be looking for a specific year/type?

What should I consider when shopping for them?

Is the 6505 any different from its counterpart?

Will the combo need a speaker UG?

and anything else you would care to contribute...
