remember that any serious routing on the body will look like ass unless the body is refinished. to recess your existing bridge in your existing body, the stud inserts would have to be pulled out (never a great idea because it weakens the wood), the holes would have to be filled with dowells, then the new recessed route routed, then new holes drilled and stud inserts put in, then a refinish to hide the wood that was exposed by doing all that. that would cost as much or more than a new body, so i doubt it would be worth it.
