ok. so all humbuckers have 4 conducters, per set. Just in some, instead of leaving the hot of one and ground of the other in the mix, they cut em way back in the pickup, and connect em there. imagine in a wiring diagram from SD or dimarzio where it has you solder the white and black (dimarzio) or i think its red and green (SD) wires together. That. except they do it inside the pickup.

As far as the JB and Jazz,
my brother had a pair (6ers) with his stock ibz single in a supermodified 350dx. They were rocking, the only thing we noticed was that the JB could get a little too.... spongy... if you were playing power chords, and he doesnt even play in drop d.
But if you like high output pups, thats a solid set for sure
