My name is Derek, been playing since I was 14 or so. Never got into the lead guitar thing (always played around people more interested in showing off than me, so
). So, I mostly play rhythm. However, if anyone wants to test their patience, I would appreciate some tips so I can improve my overall playing.
I switched to 7's earlier this year and the only remaining 6 that I have is my acoustic. Once I can find a (steel-stringed) 7-string replacement, that too will be handed down to my son (he awaits eagerly).
Anyway, I am 31, have 3 kids (2 boys, 1 girl), and a nagging wife. Yes, I'm sooo metal!
My daughter and my oldest son are trying to learn guitar so that's pretty cool.
If I had more time I would probably be in a band, but who has time to practice and gig with all of the fantastic discussions on these forums?
Time for me shut up!
