Ok, I just sold my Randall so I should have have some money soon. I'm going to buy a Tremol-No, and finally change the pickups in my 1527.
I can't believe I've had the guitar for a year now and still have the stock pups. I already know I'm getting an Air Norton for the neck, but I'm having lots of trouble choosing a bridge pickup.
I've been thinking about these Dimarzio's:
Blaze Custom
Evo 7
D-Activator 7
X2N 7
So if you peeps who have tried these pickups could share your knowledge, I'd be ever so happy.
Feel free to recommend anything.
I'm willing to go with a Bareknuckle in the bridge if I can't find a suitable Dimarzio. But I can only afford one Bareknuckle, so I'd still go with the Air Norton in the neck. So you BKP guys can chime in too.
The sound I'm looking for is kind of a modern metal tone, balanced and tight, with a good amount of mids. Nothing too extreme. Also, it would be nice if the pup could do some djent for when I feel like it. I have the 1527 tuned to Bb most of the time.
Help me out here, I'm tired of the crappy tone of the IBZ pickups!
