I am however only some jackass with a PC and time on his hands, so my no-talent ass is going to stick with the more traditional, if highly detuned, setups.
In the meantime, I yanked the ESP back up to A today and I'm having it sit in the corner and let the tremolo think about the consequences of its actions. I'll fool around with it tomorrow, but I suspect I might freak out and do a drop-G tuning

I will also add: it's nice to have the top 6 strings in D tuning, 'cause it makes it a little easier to learn all those Death, Slayer and Lamb of God covers my drummer wants to do.
