It is judgement day (Mesa)

So, as some of you might know, I bought myself a new amp today.

A brand spanking new Mesa Triple Rectifier. I was the first one to open the box since it was shipped. Mesa did a great job packing it, and I must say it was a beautiful sight when I took it out of the box.

Everything I need. The mesa manual(very informative), the Big Foot floor board(with a bag), cables and a cover for the head.

What do we have here, a row of gnomes?

Yes, they seem to be christmas gnomes, I better undress them...

Yummy, that's where the tone is. Naked gnome... tubes Three pairs of 6l6's and three rectifier tubes(the third Rectifier tube is outside the picture)

Ready to rock!

I must admit, I have never played with an amp that sounds so dominating. The low end is HUGE, and the bass is at 11 o'clock. But the cool thing is, that the low end is extremely tight and punchy, just the way I like. The palm mutes are beautiful with the low B, that tight yet huge punch in the face. And no fizz or harsh highs. I understand why so many metal bands/producers use Triple's.

There is no way to compare this to the Single I had. The Single sounded harsh and thin, while this just sounds absolutely huge. Like I said, I have never heard an amp sound this dominating. Maybe there was something wrong with the Single though...(!)

The amp sounds very smooth and musical, it responds to picking very well. The clean channel is great IMO, even with EMG's. I have to try the clean channel with my Carvin to hear the real character.

It is very versatile, you can get an awesome, smooth as butter lead tones when using the spongy/tube rectifier settings, and of course that in your face metal stuff is where this amp shines. From jazz to Nevermore and to Cannibal Corpse, it's all there.

It really is everything I wanted it to be, and I think it only gets better when I get to know the amp better and know how to tweak it. I could not be happier! But, I am glad that I own a power atteunator

Thanks to all you guys for the suggestions
