There is VERY LITTLE difference. All tubescreamers are the same circuit with slight variances in parts values. The TS7 sounds slightly different because its all 1/8 watt resistors and all the other models are 1/4 watt. The difference is barely noticeable if at all.
The 808 and ts9 with all the mods are very tasty indeed!
True bypass makes them sound better with the pedal on and off! There's no room for true bypass in a TS7.
