CFBbEbGCF tuning
Gave this a spin this evening... Same principle as Metal Ken's D to G tuning; standard tuning dropped down with an extra high string. String gauges are my usual 9-60 set; I just locked down the bridge with my tremol-no and tuned up.
Sounds amazing! I've mainly been playing rhythm tonight (Schuldiner-ish riffery), so I haven't really explored the possiblities for lead playing yet, but the higher tuning, coupled with the sound of the fixed bridge is perfect for that sort of metal; bright and clear, but absolutely crushing!
This is something I'm going to pursue more, although I doubt it'll replace my other tunings. I'd love to try the same tuning arrangement, only tuning to Eb with a high Ab, possibly dropping the Eb down to C# on occasion...
