Listening to the stuff, it did sound like COB completely copied Pantera with "Punch Me I Bleed" but I didn't really think it sounded like they copied Carcass (even though Alexi's vocals seem to be pretty influenced by Jeff Walker's vocals in Carcass as well as all of black metal vocals).
There is one song I wrote for my band that they could probably put on there and say "Hey, look, a rip off of Metallica" and whip out something, just because the first 3 notes are the same (and every note after that is different). If you listen to the song, it sounds nothing like Metallica, but if you put just the first 5 seconds of those parts side by side, someone might say "hey! The first few notes are the same!" In music, especially in the same kind of music, you'll find lots of similar songs that are not even ripping each other off.
"Basketcase" by Green Day, "What's My Age Again" by Blink 182, and "Good" by Better Than Ezra all use the exact same chords. "Glycerine" by Bush also uses the exact same chord progression (by intervals) but one step lower. I don't think any of them were copying each other or ripping each other off.
