How would you do it... Recording advice needed
So my band is going to record a cheap, tangible demo to hand out to people at gigs and stuff. We record all our practices and whatnot on our drummer's laptop then he edits them. They actually turn out somewhat decent for using the laptop's internal mic. I am not sure what specific program he uses but he is pretty good with it and he has done a bit of recording other bands.
He picked up some decent drums mics recently and I picked up a Behringer V-Amp Pro. What we are going to do is record the drums first with some scratch guitar tracks, then record direct to his laptop for the guitars and bass.
The problem we are running into is the drummer needs to hear both guitarists playing while he records instead of just one of us. I know one guy could go from the V Amp into some headphones and the drummer could go off that but how do we get both of us in the mix?
Also, do you guys have any tips in general for recording like this? We are on a severely tight budget right now. We spent the last of our band dollhairs buying a seven for the other guitarist. We will now both be playing Washburn 7's. I am pretty darn excited.
After Simon bites that Skeleton’s face in half, he is going to rape that hydra. That’s how Simon rolls..
