Having seen Maiden live several times, I can say that undoubtedly they are one of the most fucking intense live shows out there. They play for the FANS, who obviously want to hear the old shit - and that's what they're playing on Ozzfest.
If anything, it's sheer jealousy that they're upstaging the rest of the acts on the bill. I don't care how much Sharon dislikes Dickinson, Maiden alone is worth the price of admission. Anyone bitter at the fans can take comfort in the fact that they're being replaced by Velvet fucking Revolver. That's like replacing the Beatles with the Monkees and pretending that the fans are getting the same quality show.
Maiden dominates all, up the fucking irons.
