Same goes for me; I don't use the band at all on my Gibson and Dean guitars, as those are the ones I tend to use to that sort of rhythm playing. Everything's a compromise unfortunately.
It's a bitch for me, as I like a lot of ringy, open-tuned chords, but at the same time I like seven-string shredding, so multiple guitars are the only solution...
