If you want to maybe get away from heads and maybe look at more of a versatile guitar rig, check out an article I wrote awhile back about building a rack system. It might not be what you're looking for, but IMO having a versatile rig is paramount, and you'll definitely be able to create your own sound.

I honestly think a big problem in modern music is that no one has their own sound anymore. Dimebag is the last guy I remember who really had his own defined sound. It was such an important thing for guitarists in the 80s to have their own sound, but nowaways that seems to have gone away. it's too bad.
Yeah man, guys like Vai, EVH, and Nuno Bettencourt, along with George Lynch all head definitely different yet awesome sounds all their own.

I fucking love Bettencourt's tone, even today. He gets this raunchy friggin' tone and I just love it.
