Yeah, for the price you can pick up used 1000s for regularly there's no reason not to, if that kinda guitar is what you're looking for.

That being said, ESP Standards have been showing up for pretty nice prices lately. For $1k I'd rather pick up an ESP with a scuff or two than a new 1000. Who wouldn't though?
